Course Overview: This is a basic course for Crime Stoppers board members and coordinators. Topics for this course include Texas Crime Stoppers Overview, Board Responsibilities and Relations, Operational Guidelines, Record Keeping and Requirements of the Governors Office for Program Certification, Campus Programs, Funding, Publicity, Legal Issues, and Media Relations.

Hotel Reservations: Each participant is required to arrange and pay for her/his own lodging and travel. Contact the Omni Corpus Christi directly by calling 361/887-1600 or toll-free 800/843-6664 and ask for the Texas Crime Stoppers room rate of $85 (single accommodation room) or $85 (double accommodation room) plus tax per night. Please note that this hotel does have several very large groups holding meetings and conferences at the same time as the Basic Crime Stoppers Training Course. Please book your room immediately to ensure room availability. The reservation deadline is October 1, 2007.

Credit: Sixteen hours of training for initial certification, continuing certification, and TCLEOSE credit are available if you attend the entire course.

13th Annual Campus Crime Stoppers Conference

Ceta Canyon Camp & Retreat Center

The 2007 Texas Campus Conference will be held at Ceta Canyon Retreat Center, 50 miles south of Amarillo in the far southwest corner of beautiful Palo Duro Canyon!

Sunday:
Arrival is Sunday the November 4, any time after noon. There is plenty of  indoor and outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy.   Sunday evening's dinner is included in the registration fee (there is no set time, so if someone arrives after 6 pm supper will still be available), as is lodging.

Monday:
Monday morning the conference begins at 8 a.m. with opening ceremonies and ends at
5 p.m. Monday evening we will again have things to do for entertainment.

Tuesday:
Tuesday is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The awards banquet is Tuesday night with a dance afterwards. You may leave after the dance, or wait until after breakfast on Wednesday and then leave.

Lodging:
The rooms are dorm style and sleep anywhere from 8 to 16. This is different then in the past, so please take note.  Sponsors, boys and girls will be separated.

Cost:
Two hundred dollars covers all costs including lodging, conference registration and all meals from Sunday to Wednesday morning.
